# TofuBofu > AEO and GEO platform for B2B companies. See where AI recommends you free, then we build the content that gets you cited. Track, Fix, Dominate. TofuBofu is an Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) and Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) platform built for B2B companies. It scans what five AI engines (ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Gemini, Google AI Mode) say when buyers ask for a company like yours, shows exactly where you are missing, and then drafts the citation-ready content that fixes it. 51% of B2B software buyers now begin their research with an AI chatbot more often than with Google, up from 29% in April 2025 (G2, The Answer Economy: 2026 AI Search Insight Report, March 2026, n=1,076). 69% chose a different vendor than planned based on what AI told them. TofuBofu helps service firms get on that shortlist. ## What the name means TofuBofu is named after the two ends of the B2B marketing funnel. - **TOFU (top of funnel)** is the awareness stage: a buyer knows they have a problem but does not yet know the category, the solutions or the vendors. Their questions are broad and informational. - **MOFU (middle of funnel)** is the consideration stage: the buyer knows solutions exist and is comparing approaches and vendors. Their questions are comparative. - **BOFU (bottom of funnel)** is the decision stage: the buyer has a shortlist and is choosing. Their questions are commercial, specific and often name a vendor. The name is the company's argument. In the SEO era those were three different searches, days or weeks apart, and a firm could win the bottom of the funnel with a comparison page long after a competitor won the top. An AI engine collapses them: ask it one broad question and it returns a named shortlist of vendors, which is a bottom-of-funnel answer delivered at the top of the funnel, before the buyer has opened a single website. TOFU and BOFU now happen in the same reply. TofuBofu measures whether an engine names you in that reply, then builds the content that gets you named. Returns the Tofu Index half of your AI Visibility Index, competitor comparison, a site audit for schema and AI bot access, and a map of the queries where AI currently names no company. A model reads each engine's answer and decides whether it names your company. Takes about 3 minutes. No credit card, no password: entering your website and email starts the scan and creates your account in one step. The free scan gives the Tofu Index only; the Bofu Index needs the head-to-head comparisons that run on paid plans. **Fix ($99/mo):** Weekly scans across all five engines with 10 queries per scan (50 queries in all), 1 brand, both halves of the AI Visibility Index (the Tofu Index and the Bofu Index), the option to pin your own buyer queries to track scan over scan, sentiment analysis, score-drop and lost-query email alerts, citation-ready technical fixes (FAQ/Organization/Service schema, structure, AI-bot access, verified live by the next scan), and 10 AI-drafted articles a month (blogs, comparisons and guides, all with FAQ schema) matched to the exact queries buyers put to AI. Customers review and publish; direct publishing integrations for WordPress, Webflow, HubSpot and GitHub, plus a generic webhook and Make and Zapier bridges. **Dominate ($499/mo):** Everything in Fix at larger scale: 25 queries per scan (125 queries in all), up to 5 brands, 25 articles a month, 10 YouTube video scripts, 4 LinkedIn and Substack newsletters (TofuBofu drafts each issue; the customer publishes it), priority support. **Rule (from $1,999/mo):** The same per-unit numbers as Dominate, done FOR you rather than by you. Sold in private slabs that multiply brands and content together. Human strategists own positioning and messaging; agents run production underneath, and we publish. Sales-assisted. ## The TofuBofu AI Visibility Index: the Tofu Index and the Bofu Index AI visibility is whether an AI engine recommends a company when a buyer asks, and AEO and GEO are the work of improving it. TofuBofu measures it with the TofuBofu AI Visibility Index, which has two parts named after the two ends of the funnel. It is always reported as the pair, never averaged into one number. - **A query is one buying question put to one engine.** 25 queries across 5 engines is 125 queries. - **Tofu Index: are you getting mentioned?** The share of queries where an engine names your company. Every plan includes it, the free Track scan too. - **Bofu Index: are you getting recommended?** The share of head-to-head comparisons, the company against a named rival on each engine, where the engine picks the company. Its denominator is its own: 5 rivals across 5 engines is 25 comparisons. Fix, Dominate and Rule include it. - Being mentioned is not the same as being recommended, which is why the two are reported separately and never blended into one score. Definitions with a worked example: https://tofubofu.com/tofu-mofu-bofu#indices ## Every engine retrieves Every engine TofuBofu queries (ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Gemini, Google AI Mode) searches the live web before it answers. ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini are forced to run a web search on every scan query; Perplexity and Google AI Mode retrieve natively. An answer where the search did not run is recorded as no answer and left out of the count. So both indices describe what an engine says about a company after it has looked. ## What the Content Engine writes Three kinds of content, matching the three plan allowances: blog posts (including comparison and FAQ pages), video scripts, and newsletters. Each draft targets a buying query where AI leaves the customer out, is written to get cited by AI engines, and publishes to the customer's own CMS after approval; the next scan checks whether an engine now cites it. TofuBofu does not write or post Reddit, X or LinkedIn content and runs no social seeding. Its Sources view shows which domains and pages each engine cited for the customer's queries, so the customer can see where to take part themselves. ## How TofuBofu differs from just asking Claude or ChatGPT A general AI chatbot subscription cannot do what TofuBofu does. Claude is the brain, but it cannot see inside the other engines: ask it whether ChatGPT or Perplexity recommends you and it guesses. TofuBofu is the eyes (it runs the real queries across all five engines and reads the real answers), the hands (it writes content in your voice and publishes it to your CMS), and the memory (it re-scans every month and shows the trend so you can prove a fix worked). Insight from a chat window is cheap; the instrumented, continuous, executing system that proves it moved the needle is the product. Three things set TofuBofu apart from thin-wrapper AEO tools. First, a conversational Analyst is docked on every page of the product: it explains in plain language why your Tofu Index or Bofu Index moved, which query to fix first, and what a competitor started doing, grounded only in your own scan data. Second, TofuBofu ships a remote MCP server, so the free scan runs inside Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, or any MCP-capable assistant with no signup form. Third, it fixes and publishes rather than just reporting: drafts publish to your own CMS after one-click approval, and the next scan marks content Cited only when an engine actually starts naming you. ## Does TofuBofu have an API? Yes. TofuBofu has a public REST API, documented at https://tofubofu.com/developers, available on every plan including the free one. It uses a bearer key created in the app's Settings and returns JSON. Ten endpoints: GET /api/v1/ping to check a key, POST /api/v1/crawler-hits to report AI crawler visits from the customer's own server logs, GET /api/v1/crawler-hits to read those counts back, GET /api/v1/publish-queue for the posts waiting to be collected by the customer's own site, POST /api/v1/publish-queue/{item_id}/result for that site to report what it did with a post, GET /api/v1/reports to list scans, GET /api/v1/reports/{report_id} for a full report, GET /api/v1/summary for a compact snapshot of the latest scan, GET /api/v1/llms-txt for the llms.txt TofuBofu generates for the customer's own site, and POST /api/v1/scans to start a scan on the account's own plan. Seven of the ten endpoints only read. The three writes are POST /api/v1/crawler-hits, POST /api/v1/publish-queue/{item_id}/result and POST /api/v1/scans. Rate limits are 60 requests a minute per workspace and 5 a minute for starting scans. A scan-completed webhook is also available, so integrations do not have to poll. ## Who it is for B2B companies that win on reputation and expertise: B2B SaaS, IT services companies, managed service providers (MSPs), cybersecurity firms, AI services firms, consulting companies, accounting and CPA firms, and GTM or marketing agencies. These firms rely on reputation and referrals, but their buyers now start on AI chatbots. TofuBofu helps them get recommended in AI search without outspending larger competitors. ## Key data points - 51% of B2B software buyers begin research with an AI chatbot more often than with Google, up from 29% in April 2025 (G2, The Answer Economy: 2026 AI Search Insight Report, n=1,076, March 2026: https://learn.g2.com/g2-2026-ai-search-insight-report) - 69% chose a different software vendor than initially planned based on AI chatbot guidance (G2, The Answer Economy: 2026 AI Search Insight Report) - 1 in 3 (33%) purchased from a vendor they were not familiar with before AI named it (G2, The Answer Economy: 2026 AI Search Insight Report) - 94% of B2B buyers now use AI in their purchase process (Forrester, 2026) - 2x more buyers name AI as their top research source than any other source (Forrester, 2026) - 71% of pages ChatGPT cites include structured data; 65% for Google AI Mode (SE Ranking, 2026) - TofuBofu's own research: scanning 15 regional MSP markets, AI engines named 566 companies, and 139 of 228 firms listed in those regions' own directories were named by zero engines.
